Elective vault
Week-long electives run every day of camp and let you go deep on a skill. One shots are single 90-minute sessions you can drop into for something new. These are examples from CrüTech 2026 — the final 2027 list may change depending on leader availability.
The vault
Full stack web development using a real-world stack — Vue, C#, and Entity Framework — to build a website from the ground up. You’ll get a feel for working like a professional developer with tools like GitHub and Copilot. Some basic programming experience is recommended but not required.
Starcraft is a sci-fi strategy game played on camp. In this elective you’ll design your own missions and stories for others to play — laying out terrain, setting objectives, and building challenges using the game’s high-tech and alien armies.
Normally Starcraft is played with a mouse and keyboard. In this one shot, you’ll play it standing on a Dance Dance Revolution–style dance mat, using your feet instead of your fingers. You’re sure to draw a crowd playing Starcraft with your feet.
A quick run-down of recursion (where a function calls itself) and dynamic programming as an optimisation on top of it. We’ll cover a few techniques and spend most of the time practising in C#, though you’re welcome to use any language you have access to. Some programming experience is recommended.
